My name is Luis Anthony Ast. I am a professional math tutor with over 27 years experience tutoring 7th grade through college level mathematics. I have worked as a tutor for the City of Tucson, the University of Arizona, Pima Community College, Tucson Unified School District, and Arizona State University. I can tutor mathematics in English or in Spanish. I can help students in Junior and Senior High School, Technical Training School, Community College, or University. I can also help students score higher on most Standardized Tests (AIMS, ACT, SAT, PSAT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, and others).

The subjects I can help out are: arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry, finite mathematics (matrices, linear programming [simplex method], finance, set theory, combinatorics, and probability), and business mathematics. I DO NOT formally tutor Statistics at this time.

I pride myself in being the BEST tutor around, and when students see me, they are convinced that I am. I am very patient, have an easy-going style of tutoring, and have an ample supply of "lame math jokes" to keep the sessions from getting boring. I am also proficient in using most major brands of calculators (TI, Sharp, Casio and HP). I do recommend you use the TI-84+ Silver Edition Calculator over any other calculator and it is the calculator I use in my videos. I also will show you how to use Maple 13 and Cinderella mathematics software where applicable.

These days, I am concentrating my efforts in making math tutoring videos. Some are free lessons and others are "premium" lessons where you would need to pay to watch them. The 16:9 widescreen videos are available in many media formats. When you purchase a DVD-R lesson (you can choose either NTSC or PAL formats), there is also a special DVD-ROM area where iPod, iPhone, and Apple TV versions of the lesson are available. Real and Flash Media videos are available on most video sharing sites like YouTube. Windows Media videos are only available through VOD (Video On Demand) and through Amazon Unboxed.
